By way of introduction, this website is essentially designed to inform the reader about my private law firm and of the areas of law I practice.
The main focus of my legal practice is Civil Litigation, which is the actual conducting of legal proceedings from drafting and filing documents to arguing cases before a Judge or Jury in a court of law. I have had sole carriage of legal proceedings at virtually every level of court in Canada, including various national and provincial administrative tribunals. I have been a full-time practicing member of the Law Society of Upper Canada for over 20 years. My professional career as a Lawyer started on “Bay Street” in Toronto, following which I moved to Kingston, Ontario and set up my own private law firm. I have been based at Kingston and practicing law in major centers such as Toronto and Ottawa along with the entire Eastern Ontario region since the mid 1990’s.

I am also an Assistant Professor with the Queen’s University Faculty of Law and with the Queen’s' J. R. Smith School of Business. I have been teaching “Appellate Advocacy” and “Business Law” for over 10 years. In addition, for the last several years I have taught “International Business Law” at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, Europe as part of their annual international summer school program entitled “Take the Best from East & West”.

My teaching assignments are worthy of noting here because I essentially “practice what I preach” or rather teach what I practice! The specific areas and types of law I have worked in and continue to practice include but are not limited to the following:
